Forex trades continuously on weekdays but not evenly. Volume, volatility and spread rotate with the major centres, and the London–New York overlap is typically the deepest and most volatile stretch of the day for the majors.
Thin hours bring wider spreads and ranges that can imitate trends until real volume arrives. Choosing your hours deliberately is one of the few edges available to a retail trader that costs nothing but attention.
